Harry R. Nickles "Pops"  of Fairport, NY on May 20, 2017 at age 93.  Predeceased by parents; sisters Mary and Dorothy; brothers Bernard and George.  He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mary Lou; Daughter, Nancy Shaffer of Portland , OR; sons, David of Salem, OR and James ( Susan ) of Irondequoit, NY.  Grandchildren, Noah Shaffer, Lincoln Shaffer and Jessica Nickles.  Also numerous in-laws, nephews and nieces.

Harry was a B-52 Pilot during WWII, 521st Squadron, 376th BG, 15th  Air Force in Italy ( 1944-45 ).  After his service he graduated from the Univesity of Rochester as an electrical engineer.  He was a successful, self-made businessman until his retirement in 1987. 

He was a avid golfer.  He also enjoyed time with his immediate family and his extended family.  Harry and Mary volunteered for many years playing and leading music participation at the Episcopal Church Home in Rochester.

Friends may call on Thursday May 25th from 2:00 - 4:00 PM and 6:00 - 8:00 PM at the  funeral home.  Harry's Memorial Service will be on Friday morning at 10:30 AM in All Seasons Chapel at White Haven Memorial Park  210 Marsh Road  Pittsford.  In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make contributions  to the Episcopal Church Home  505 Mt. Hope Avenue  Rochester, NY  14620 in his honor.
