Cynthia Diane Coupal died in her sleep at home on February 8th, 2018 in Fairport, New York due to hypertension and atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease. Cynthia was born on July 20, 1950 in Pottsdam, New Yor to Barbara Ann and Robert Taylor Coupal (both deceased). She returned to college as an adult and graduated with a Bachelor's of Science Degree Cum Laude from Nazareth College in 1992. She had many passions and interests including reading, arts, culture and the natural world.
Cynthia was an active member at the Third Presbyterian Church in Rochester, New York, where she served on the library committee, as well as tutored Rochester City School Elementary aged children through the church's outreach group. She also was an active member of Burroughs Audubon Nature Club and enjoyed walks and friendships with the Woman Outdoors Walkers group of local woman who walk, talk and support each other in their daily lives.
Cynthia is survived by her brother, Robert Mark Coupal and Sally Lynn Coupal (sister in law) and Jason Taylor Coupal (nephew) and numerous cousins across the United States.
Cynthia's Memorial Service will be Friday February 23rd at 10:00 AM at the Third Presbyterian Church 4 Meigs St Rochester, New York. There will be a reception after the service at Johnston Hall, located within the church. Cynthia will be buried along a stream on the Nature Trail at White Haven Memorial Park 210 Marsh Road in Pittsford, New York in a private ceremony later in the year.
