Josephine Bartolotta of Fairport, New York on August 31, 2017 at age 99. She was born on October 06, 1917 to Salvatore and Rose Bartolotta. She is predeceased by brothers, Sebastian (John), Louis, Victor and Anthony and sisters, Lucy DeSantis, Mary Pace, Virginia Farell and Lee Barrevecchia. She is survived by many nieces and nephews as well as grandnieces and grandnephews.
Miss Bartolotta was active in her church and in the community, working for many years for the Fairport Herald Mail as a proof reader, and later a columnist. She taught third grade at the School of Religion at Assumption Parish in Fairport for 31 years, where for 50 years she also sang in the church choir. She had a wide circle of devoted and attentive friends who visited frequently and who had been preparing to celebrate with her for her 100th birthday. She loved music, good conversation and games such as Scrabble, Jeopardy and Trivial Pursuit. She nearly always won.
The family wishes to extend sincere thanks to the incredibly dedicated and compassionate staff at Aaron Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation where she spent the final years of her life. It is difficult to describe the quality and devotion of the care she received there.
Friends may attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday morning at 9:00 AM in Church of the Assumption 20 East Avenue Fairport, NY. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery Penfield, NY. Memorials in her name may be made to the American Heart Association, Catholic Family Charities and the Church of the Assumption .
