Robert B. Hicks, Sr. passed away on Saturday April 22, 2017. He was born in Pittsburgh, PA on July 29, 1935.
He was predeceased by his mother, Louise Hicks and his foster parents, The Reverend Fay and Matie Wideman, and foster brother and sister. He is survived by by his loving spouse, Dottie, son Robert B. Hicks, Jr. and daughter, Kimberly; two step-sons, Michael and Don Miller; four grandsons and three great granddaughters.
Bob graduated from Sodus High School and Rochester Institute of Technology. He worked at Foldpak in Newark and retired from there in 1998. He was a lay minister in the United Methodist Church. He was a Civil War reenactment enthusiast and Bob enjoyed playing Lincoln in a variety of venues. After retiring, Bob and his wife enjoyed traveling throughout the United States. They particulary enjoyed cruising on the east and west coasts.
A celebration of his life will be on Saturday April 29th at the Southeast Baptist Bible Church, 1850 Nine Mile Point Road, Penfield at 2:00 PM. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
