Robert S. Moore of Rochester, NY on May 26, 2018, loved and adored by his family. Predeceased by his loving wife Mary, granddaughter Haley Leigh Bone and sister Carolyn Schatz. He is survived by his children, Kathleen ( Peter ) Czora, Thomas Moore and Susan ( Mark ) Moore; grandchildren, Shane Moore, Connor Czora and Allison Czora; sister Elizabeth Moore; a niece and a nephew.
Robert obtained his doctorate at the University of Wisconsin at Madison. He was a Research Chemist/Laboratory Head at Eastman Kodak for nearly 30 years, and had eaned three patents during his tenure at Bell Labs, prior to Kodak. Robert was a Naval Officer and served his country aboard the U.S.S. Los Angeles CA-135. He was named a Fellow of the American Chemical Society and was an active member of throughout his career. Robert loved to sing and participated in his church choir for close to 50 years. After retirement he also became a member of the Rochester Oratorio Society, for over a decade, as well as three other choral groups. He participated in the ROS tour to Beijing and Shanghai for the 2008 Olympic Cultural Festival. Robert was an avid sailor, skier and photographer, and had lived life to the fullest.
Services will be held Saturday June 02, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Asbury United Methodist Church, 1050 East Avenue. Interment at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Church Memorial Fund, or the Rochester Oratorio Society, 1050 East Avenue, Rochester, NY 14607
