SALLIE F. (GOOD) von MECHOW

Sallie von Mechow ( Good ) of Fairport, NY on May 13, 2108 at age 93.  Born on March 15, 1925 in New York City.  Sallie served as an Army Librarian during the Post World War II European Occupation, and was a librarian for the Town of Smithtown, New York from 1962 until her retirement in 1990.  She also volunteered in the Hamilton, NY library from 1991 to 2015.  Sallie loved to garden, bike, hike and camp and was  passionate about protecting the environment.  Her favorite pastimes included solving word, number and jigsaw puzzles.  Sallie also enjoyed traveling and had been to many places throughout the US, Europe and Australia.  She fulfilled her lifelong dream by traveling to Antarctica in her 70's.

She is predeceased by her husband of 62 years, A Henry ( Hank ) von Mechow.  Survived by her children, Fred and Patricia von Mechow, Kathy and Michael Bowen, Ruth and Dave Dupont and Laura and Warren Kerper; also 12 grandchildren an 4 great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held on July 14, 2018 at 2:00 PM at the Madison Lane Apartments Community Room 2-3,  310 Madison Lane  Hamilton, NY  13346.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Hamilton Food Cupboard,  1 Mill St.  Hamilton, NY  13346
