Bridget Mary Deaton Libby, 86, was called home to God on Monday, April 19th, 2021. She was a loving and supportive wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was also a devoted Christian and a good friend to many.
Her strong faith and love of family nurtured her throughout her life.
Bridget was born in Dublin, Ireland in 1934 and emigrated to England after the war. She worked in a Garrard Engineering factory in Swindon, England where she soldered high quality gramophone turntables. She met and married her husband in 1954 when he was serving in the USAF at an airbase in England.
Bridget was strong willed, wise, and compassionate. You always knew where you stood with her, and she was direct with her opinions and ideas.
She was enthusiastic in her passion to help others, and worked tirelessly to make life better for those in her family, congregation and in the community she lived in. She tirelessly knitted prayer shawls for ailing parishioners and fabricated custom rosaries for the parish.
Bridget enjoying an intriguing novel, a good cup of English tea, and keeping in touch with her large family.
She is predeceased by her husband, George, her brother John, and her son Joseph. She is survived by her brother Rupert, her sister Margaret, her sons Michael (Beth), Patrick (Pam), and daughter Linda Giamporcaro (Ray). Her five grandchildren: Joseph, Nicole Dealy (Ryan), Kate McDonnell (Phil), Lisa Nichols, and Tricia Gantt (Jeff). Ten great grandchildren: Halle, Ryan, Drew, Gavin, Emma, Fiona, Autumn, Philip, Willow, Liam, and Violet. Friends may visit on Tuesday evening May 11, 2021 from 7:00 - 8:00 PM with a Rosary Service from 8:00 - 8:30 PM. . Her Funeral Mass is scheduled for Wednesday May 12th at 11:15 AM at Assumption of Our Lady Church 20 East Avenue in Fairport followed by interment at White Haven Memorial Park in Pittsford.
