CHRISTAL M. BENNETT

Christal Bennett of Rochester, New York on August 06, 2020 at age 89. Christal ws born in Oswego, NY to Maurine (Eldridge) Bennett and Cliffod A. Bennett.  When her parents divorced, Christal went to live with her grandparents, Marion and Charles Eldridge, in Rochester, NY.  Christal received her high school diploma from Our Lady of Mercy High School.  She had the honor of working as an executive secretary to one of the vice-presidents of Eastman Kodak.  She left Kodak when her children were born, so she could stay home and take care of them.

Like her father, who founded the Gregorian Institute of America, Christal had a great love of music.  She especially loved classical music.  Many days, she could be found at her organ playing Shubert and Tchaikovsky along with other great classical composers.  In 1981, Christal received her paralegal degree from Bryant & Stratton Business Institute.  A few years later, she went back to school and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Piano Pedagogy from Roberts Wesleyan College.

She survived by Lloyd Dettinger , her children, Anne Mary Preston,  Charice  ( David ) Peckman, Kimberly Hollister, Kirk Bulluck; her grandchildren: Erika (A.J.) Clarendon, Dr. Erisa (Richard Llaneta) Preston, Erianna (J.P.)Carroll, Sarah Peckman, Andrew (Jolana) Hollister, Nathan Hollister, Matthew Hollister, Jessica Hollister, Stephen Hollister and many, many great-grandchildren.  In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to a charity for children or for the poor.

Services and interment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Lake Avenue. Rochester, NY.  on Tuesday August 18, 2020 at 11:00AM.
