Cynthia Jack Obituary

Cynthia was born January 21, 1939, the first child of Eugene and Eleanor in Baltimore, Maryland. Her father was working for the fledgling social security system and it was shortly after the depression.

Because of the times and scarcity of employment by the time Cynthia had graduated high school she had moved twelve times.

It was during this time that she discovered a passion for reading and one summer read 75 books and gave a synopsis of each one to the library and received a certificate.

In 1945 Cynthia was joined by her younger brother, Lawrence, even though she had requested a baby sister.

Cynthia would eventually leave home and take residence in Canandaigua working for the Canandaigua Medical Group. Here she also discovered a passion for numbers and was able to apply both passions in her new career at the young age of 21. One fateful night she went bowling with her cousin and some friends brought along a coworker, Douglas. Thus began a love story that endured for almost 64 years until her passing.

Douglas and Cynthia were married in November of 1960 and welcomed their first son, David the following year. Their love continued with the birth of children Dean, Deborah and Donna. During this time Cynthia was a stay at home mom with the stability and security provided by Douglas. Later, she would decide it was time for her formal education. So while handling four children Cynthia attended Rochester Institute of Technology and received her Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration. She immediately put it to good use and had a very successful career with a local Rochester business.

Once she and Douglas retired their next set of adventures began. They traveled to Israel, Jordan, Scotland, England and Ireland as well as multiple excursions throughout the United States. After settling into their retirement home the next adventure included cars. She and Douglas purchased two Triumphs and would become key members of the MG and Triumph car clubs in Rochester. For twenty years they traveled to different car shows, becoming an integral part of that community. She even coordinated a national Triumph Register of America convention to take place in the Finger lakes region with events planned for an entire weekend for a large group of visitors. It was a great success.

Cynthia was also a woman of great faith. She was actively involved with her church and participated in many of the different groups as well as was the finance officer for the church for several years. Cynthia and Douglas helped to manage the Saint Pauly's Box, a collection site for clothing and other items, several times a week. Her faith compelled her to live her life with kindness and compassion on a daily basis.
