Donald Renard Smith

Donald Renard Smith made his journey to heaven on August 3, 2022. Donald was cherished husband to Shirley, loving brother to Newell (Anne), beloved father to Shelley and Darcy (Tom), and adored Papa to Daisy and Lucien. Donald served in the Air Force at Offutt Air Force Base in Omaha, Nebraska where he met Shirley. The two married in 1965 and moved to Rochester where Donald first worked for the AAA. Donald went on to work at, and eventually own, Grinnell Travel Agency. Many special memories were made traveling as a family. Donald enjoyed playing sports of all types, especially golf in his later years. Donald and Shirley lived in Greece, New York and Naples, Florida until the birth of their grandchildren, when Donald’s love for them brought the couple back to Rochester full-time. Since December of 2019, Donald lived at the Edna Tina Wilson Living Center where staff members loved and cared for him. A private graveside ceremony for the family will occur at White Haven Memorial Park in Pittsford. Friends may call at Doser Funeral Home in Fairport from 4:00 to 7:00 PM on August 5.
