Florence A. Daltilio of Fairport, NY on April 01, 2016 at age 93. She is pre-deceased by her husband of 48 years, Michele Anthony Daltilio and her brother William Heberger. Surviving are her children, Julia (Thomas) Jayne, Sharon (David) Cipkowski and Richard (Susan) Daltilio. Grandchildren, Tierney (Andrew) McKee, Michael Jayne, Lt. Mary Jayne (fiancee Bill Durham), James (Andrea) Kinney and Ronald Daltilio. Great grandchildren, Colin McKee, Kyleigh, Christopher, Nickolas, Logan & Ethan Kinney. Nieces and nephews and two sisters-n-law in Arizona and Florida. Florence is also survived by feline friend Muffin and Special Friend and protector Russel Terrier Gibbs.
Florence was born in Rochester, NY to the late Albert & Elsie (Knight) Heberger. She graduated from Livonia High School. She married Michele on February 16, 1946, exactly 2 years to the date that he enlisted in the Army Air Force for WWII. She lived with his parents during the war and learned many valuable skills from his mom, learning to cook, sew, and other various household duties. She was a housewife for many years, enjoying her family, pets,camping, cooking, swimming, and church fellowship. She was a Sunday School teacher in Spencerport, NY for 3 year olds for many years. She was also a foster mom to Julia from the time of 12 years old until adulthood. Later in life she was a clerical worker for he husband's construction business, a cook at the Charlton School for Girls in Charlton, NY and then a clerical worker for a Saratoga Springs, NY doctor.
Florence and Michele retired to Palm Bay, Florida in 1990. She was a communicant of the Perinton Community Church in Fairport, NY. She was their greeting card sender, a job she so enjoyed. She also helped initiate a letter writing program to area prisoners, an activity that got her interest while living in Florida. She wrote to and eventually met a special friend in Rochester, NY.
