"Len VanDerLyke, a lifelong resident of Rochester, recently passed away at his residence. He was the son of Albert and Sarah VanDerLyke and the brother of Joan VanDerLyke, who resides in Virginia. After graduating from East High School in 1967, Len joined the U.S. Navy. He served on the carrier U.S.S. Oriskany during the Vietnam War, and was stationed in Hong Kong, Hawaii, the Philippines and San Diego.
When he completed his naval service, Len returned to Rochester where he was employed as a computer operator, first at Eastman Kodak Company, and later at IBM, from which he retired.
Len was an avid reader and enjoyed cooking and good wines. His interest in the martial arts led him to earn a black belt in Tae Kwon Do.
Len is survived by his loving sister, Joan, and dearest friend Susan Constantino of Batavia. He also is survived by cousins in the U.S, and an aunt and several cousins in Northern Ireland."
There will be a visitation for family and friends on Friday January 12, 2024 from 4:00 - 7:00 PM at the funeral home. On Saturday please join his family for a Graveside Service at White Haven Memorial Park ( Section A - along Marsh Road ) at 11:00 AM.
