Lorraine Fairey Obituary

Lorraine (Lorrie) Fairey of Penfield, NY.  September 29, 1951 - February 17, 2021.  Predeceased by father (Alvin)and mother (Jean) Fairey.  She is survived by sister Nancy Mancuso (Carl), beloved nephews Jason Mancuso (Christina) and Jonathan Mancuso (Erica), adored great-nephews Vincent and Marco.  Many aunts and uncles Ramon (Jean), Fred(Beverly), Robert (deceased), Ron, Marlene (Fred), Richard (Sally). Many cousins and friends.  She was a graduate of the 1969 class of John Marshall High School (a proud member of the "tribe") and Brockport College.   Lorrie had an infectious smile and enjoyed life to the fullest..  She will be missed by all.  In lieu of flowers, please send any donations to the Leo Center for Caring, 1500 Portland Avenue. Rochester, NY. 14621.  Due to covid-19 concerns, there will be a private burial.  A celebration of Lorrie's life will be scheduled for this summer.

Lorrie was more than just a sister, aunt, cousin, niece, or friend.  She is and always will be the energy and spirit of love, caring, fun, laughter, and just overall goodness to all of us.  What she was given was returned with interest for all her family and friends; that is what we will hold onto as we grieve and feel her absence.  One of the great joys in our immediate family"s life has been to share it so closely with Lorrie.  Its been so rewarding to know her.  When her great-nephews, Vinny and Marco entered our lives, Lorrie couldn't get enough of them.  She was able to be with them often, and while together, she focused her attention on them.  She spoiled them with treats each time they saw her and ran around in circles with them, playing hide and seek and doing ANYTHING they asked her.  This is the same thing she did many years ago with her young nephews, Jason and Jonathaaan, becoming a second mother to them but being a true friend to them for all their life together.

The pain of her passing is met with the comfort of her legacy.  She would want nothing more than for all of us to find the love, fun, happiness, and always the good intention that is out there for all of us in this short but sweet life, as she did every day.

We are beyond heartbroken and devastated.  However, we feel so blessed to have known her, loved her, and most of all, been loved by her.  She gave love so unconditionally with no expectations in return.  She radiated fun and joy, and had a way about her that instantly drew you to her.

We will honor her by trying to be more like this sweet soul who loved life and only saw good.   Who gave love so freely and expected nothing in return, and who would want all of us to carry on spreading light and love to those around us just as she did.

Aunt "Yor", you have left a remarkable legacy here on earth.  Know that you will never be forgotten and will be loved by all of us in your family and by al of your friends.
