Mary Suella "Sue" Aurand

Sue was born on November 21, 1946 to Tommy and Julia Kilcourse in Louisville, Kentucky.  She was the first of four daughters born to Tommy and Julia, and joined her brother, Billy, as Tommy and Julia's first two children.

She graduated from Seneca High School in 1965. During the next several years Sue worked as a hairdresser in Hikes Point.  In 1970 she moved to Rochester, NY with her best friend, Georgina Bain.

In 1971 Sue met her husband, Mark; a co-worker of Georgina's at Monroe Community College.  After six months Sue and Mark married, on August 7, 1971.

Sue and Mark have lived in Fairport, NY for 52 years.   She blessed Mark with a son, Daniel Patrick in 1973 and a daughter, Sara Kathleen in 1976.

Over the years, Sue became an avid football fan; cheering on the Buffalo Bills and Notre Dame's Fighting Irish. She was also a lifelong Kentucky Wildcats basketball fan.  

In 2008 Sara blessed Sue and Mark with twin grandchildren, Savannah and Jared. Again in 2019 with Juliana  and in 2022 with Caden.

Sue was retired from Xerox Corporation and more recently worked part time for the Town of Perinton Recreation Center, where she made many dear friends.

Sue was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She was the Master of her kitchen, which is quite evident by Mark's waistline.

She was a great homemaker, but her greatest skill was being an amazing grandmother to her four grandchildren. It has been such a gut wrenching tragedy that those roles were so suddenly taken away due to systolic heart failure.

Sue was a devout Catholic, saying her rosary nightly without fail.  She had a deep devotion to the Holy Mother.

She is predeceased by her mom and dad, Julia and Tommy, her adored son, Daniel Patrick, her blessed sister, "Joanie Gal" and her sister-in-law, Penny Kilcourse.

Those so sadly left behind to cherish Sue's memory are her husband, Mark, her  loving and devoted daughter, Sara (Julio), her grandchildren, Savannah, Jared, Juliana and Caden. Also left behind are her brother, Billy, two sisters, Carolyn (Jack) Sweeney and Janet (Mark) Irwin, nieces Lea (Chris) Carwie, Kimberly Reid, nephews Tommy (Tina) Kilcourse, John (Sandy) Sweeney and their amazing families.

Sue's private burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Louisville, KY on May 16 with a Celebration of Life immediately following at "Kingfish" (Riverside) from1:30 to 3:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Sue's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN. 38105.

Sue was blessed to have all of you as her family and friends.  May God Bless and Protect all of you, as well as your families and friends.
