Paula A (Amico) Karnisky

Paula Karnisky passed away peacefully on Wednesday February 19, 2026, enveloped in the love and thoughts of her family and friends.

Paula was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by her husband Robert; sons Jon (Christy), Keith (Beth), and Kevin (Terry); grandchildren Kate, Justin, Cole, and Lance; her sister Francine (Warren) Kleiman; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Paul and Phyllis Amico; and her brother, Michael Amico.

Paula was one who cared for and gave to all around her be they family, friend, or stranger. Despite her long-term health concerns, she always gave with every part of her being. As an Emergency Medical Technician and longtime member of the Union Hill Volunteer Ambulance, she protected and cared for her community. When she could no longer respond to calls, she continued to train the next generation of EMTs and First Responders so they could give to the community as she had.

An avid seamstress, she took on a wide variety projects such clothing and Halloween costumes for her kids and grandkids and curtains for all our homes. She also used this talent to give back to others. She loved helping the students at McQuaid by sewing and altering costumes for all their theater productions.

Paula was the guiding force of her family, steadfast in her commitment to lead by example and to provide for those she loved. She devoted herself wholeheartedly to supporting her children and grandchildren in all their pursuits. No matter the occasion—athletic, academic, musical, or theatrical, she made it a priority to be present, offering her encouragement and unwavering support.
