Robert " Bob " Shellard of Pittsford, New York on August 21, 2013 peacefully after a long battle with cancer with his wife by his side. Bob is survived by his loving bride of 54 years, Nancy. His children, Edward, DMD; James, Ed.D. (Deborah) and Susan (Peter) Mietus; Grandchildren, Rachel (Brandon) Angelo, Adam Shellard, Robert Shellard, Jessica Shellard, Sarah Shellard and Miller Mietus; Brother and sister-in-law, Edward, M.D., and Lynne Miller. Nieces Sara Miller Latham, Katherine Miller Keane, Elizabeth Root Fusco and nephew Larry Root; and Taylor, his little white terrior mix.
Bob was a one-of-a-kind, extremely devoted family man who could fix or build anything (including a two-story closet for his wife). As an electrical engineer, he delighted in figuring out how something worked and never said no to a challenge. He was a creative story-teller to not only his children and grandchildren but to anyone who would listen. He will be profoundly missed but will live on in our hearts forever.
