Victor Albert Parella (“Vic”) 83 of Marion, NY passed away peacefully on July 11, 2025 at Strong Memorial Hospital due to heart failure.
Victor was born on June 20, 1942 in Rochester to Joseph and Angeline (Galluccio) Parella. He graduated from Edison Tech in 1960.
Victor spent many of his years in carpentry and woodworking. In early years he built many beautiful porches, decks, handicap ramps, etc. In time Victor began to focus on smaller refined projects such as furniture, butcher block tables, hand-carved decoys and his unique Adirondack chairs. He was a humble artisan.
Victor was an avid sports fan, loved traveling to Canada, never met a stranger, always helped anyone in need, was incredibly generous, loved his family and always “left ‘em laughing”. His many stories were accounts of a colorful life well lived.
Predeceased by father Joseph A. Parella, Sr, mother Angeline C. Parella, brother Joseph A. Parella, Jr, and sister Joyce Parella. Survived by his brother Vincent Parella, sister Gloria Filacamo, his partner of 38 years Julia Mckane, her daughter Cassaundra Mckane (husband Christopher Bansbach), and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial will be held at a later date. Donations in Victor’s name can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
